The huge, wide broads of the Biebrza River in north-eastern Poland is a perfect area for birdwatching and observations of wild animals. Untouched by civilisation the Bieszczady Mountains offer excellent areas for horseback riding and bicycle trips. The huge forest complex around Bialowieza provides a unique opportunity to observe the largest herd of the European bison. The Bialowieza forest is a sanctuary for 62 mammal and more than 200 bird species.
There are also attractive proposals for canoeists : several-day trips down the Drawa, Czarna Hancza and Krutynia Rivers.
