CENTRAL EUROPEAN TOUR (10 days/ 9 nights)
WARSAW(1)-KRAKOW(1)-BUDAPEST(2)-BRATISLAVA(1)-VIENNA(2)-SALZBURG(1)-PRAGUE(1)

 

Day 1 – WARSAW

  • Arrival to Warsaw – transfer to hotel, check in.
  • Half day sightseeing of Warsaw including Old Town with Market Square and Royal Castle. Drive along Royal Route with numerous palaces and residences to Lazienki park with Chopin statue and Palace on the Water . Visit Pilsudski Square with Monument of Unknown Soldiers and former Jewish Ghetto area . Admire the panorama of Warsaw from the deck on 30th floor of Palace of Culture & Science .
  • In the evening Chopin piano recital at one of Warsaw’s historic palaces.
  • Overnight in Warsaw

Day 2 – WARSAW – Auschwitz – KRAKOW ( 350 km )

  • After breakfast transfer by coach to Krakow
  • En route visit Auschwitz-Birkenau Martyrdom Museum ( UNESCO site )- former German Nazi concentration camp of World War II
  • Arrival Krakow, half day sightseeing of Krakow : Old Town with Market Square – the biggest square in Europe, Cloth Hall ( Sukiennice ) and St.Mary’s Church with famous wooden altar. A walk to Wawel Hill to see Wawel Castle courtyard and Wawel Cathedral with the tombs of Polish kings
  • In the evening dinner with folklore show at one of the local restaurants
  • Overnight in Krakow

 

Day 3 – KRAKOW-Zakopane  – BUDAPEST ( 430 km)

  • In the morning departure for Budapest via Zakopane and Tatra mountains
  • Visit of Zakopane – the winter capital of Poland and Tatra mountains. Walk along Krupowki Street and old part of the town with wooden houses in Zakopane’s architecture style. Funicular train ride to Gubalowka Hill to admire panorama of Tatra mountains. Continue to Budapest thru Slovakia and the scenic Tatra mountains
  • Arrival to BUDAPEST – a short briefing tour
  • In the evening Danube river cruise with dinner on board – optional
  • Overnight  in Budapest

Day 4 – BUDAPEST

  • Half day city sightseeing tour with local guide – Heroes’ Square with Millenary Monument, City Park with Vajdahunyad Castle, Andrássy Avenue with its 19th century palaces, State Opera House, St. Stephen’s Cathedral (inside), Parliament, Margaret bridge, Castle Hill with its mediaeval houses, Matthias church (inside), Fishermen’s Bastion, Royal Castle, Gellert Hill with Citadel and Liberation Monument.
  • Afternoon free for individual exploring the city
  • In the evening Gulyas Party Dinner with folklore show and Gypsy music – optional.
  • Overnight in Budapest

 

Day 5 – BUDAPEST – BRATISLAVA (260 km)

  • In the morning drive to Bratislava through Danube Bend – Szentendre – a small picturesque city dating back to 15th -18th  centuries with many museums and shops;  Visegrad – mediaeval Royal seat, name-giver of ‘Visegrad Fours’, Esztergom – seat of the Archbishop of Hungary, the largest Roman Catholic cathedral in the country
  • Arrival at noontime in the Slovak capital
  • In the afternoon city sightseeing tour of Bratislava  including former Royal Castle,
    St. Martin’s Cathedral, Market Square with Old Town Hall, the Primate’s and Presidential Palaces, St. Michael’s Gate and Slovak National Theatre
  • Overnight in Bratislava

 

Day 6 – BRATISLAVA – VIENNA ( 80 km)

  • Morning drive to Vienna
  • Upon arrival city sightseeing tour with local English speaking guide including Vienna Ring Strasse, Parliament, Hofburg Palace, City Hall, Votivkirche, Belvedere Palace
  • Afternoon free for individual activity
  • Optional : visit to Schönbrunn Palace, Mozart music concert
  • Overnight in Vienna

 

Day 7 – VIENNA

  • Morning excursion to Vienna Woods inc. boat ride in Seegrotte on Europe’s largest subterranean lake, visit of the convent in Mayerling, former hunting-lodge of Crown prince Rudolph, Heiligenkreuz (the medieval abbey and tomb of the Babenberg dynasty)
  • Afternoon free for individual activity
  • Optional : visit in Prater – symbol of Vienna – amusement park with the famous Riesenrad. It is said that anyone who was not at the Prater, was not in Vienna.
  • In the evening dinner with music & wine in Grinzing
  • Overnight  in Vienna

 

Day 8 – VIENNA – SALZBURG (300 km)

  • In the morning drive to Salzburg along the Mondsee district
  • Arrival at noontime.
  • In the afternoon city sightseeing tour with local guide – Fortress Hohensalzburg, Cathedral, Festival Halls, Mozarteum, Getreidegasse, Mozart’s birthplace, Mirabell gardens.
  • Overnight  in Salzburg

 

Day 9 – SALZBURG – PRAGUE (360 km)

  • In the morning drive to Prague
  • In the afternoon city sightseeing tour with local guide  – Prague Castle (Hradcany), St. Vitus Cathedral, the Golden Lane, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square with Astronomical clock, St. Nicholas Church with Infant Jesus Statue
  • In the evening Bohemian dinner with folklore show and wine/beer
  • Overnight in Prague

 

Day 10 – PRAGUE – departure

  • Transfer to Prague’s airport for the flight back home
