Day 01 – WARSAW

  • Arrival Warsaw, transfer to the hotel
  • Pm free, overnight in Warsaw

 

Day 02 – WARSAW – CITY TOUR + ROYAL CASTLE

  • Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Morning half day city tour of Warsaw including Old Town ( UNESCO list 1980) with market Square, Barbican Walls, Castle Square with Sigismundus Column. Drive along Krakowskie Przedmiescie and Nowy Swiat Streets to Belvedere and Lazienki park with Palace on the Water and F. Chopin Monument. Visit new part of the city : Palace of Culture and Science- panorama of the city from 30th floor, admire panorama of the city from the right bank of the Vistula River
  • Entrance to Royal Castlesite of Polish kings after moving the capital of Poland from Warsaw to Krakow
  • Afternoon optional :
  • visit to Warsaw Uprising Museum 1944
    Warsaw Uprising Museum was opened in the sixtieth anniversary of the outbreak of the Uprising, and is a tribute to those who fought and died for the freedom of Poland and its capital. Housed in a former power station tram. For the 10 years of activity the museum was visited by 4,6 billion visitors and 240 thousands of pupils participated in the museum lessosn
  • visit to Chopin Museum ( multimedia, modern museum )
    Museum documents the life and work of Frederic Chopin.
    The museum owns approx. 7000 objects, among others, Chopin Collection manuscripts, letters and other personal mementos of the composer, photographs, paintings, jewelry, drawings and graphics. In 2010 the museum opened a new multimedia exhibition, thanks to EU funds. The museum is organized in accordance with the concept of “open museum” – visitors are free to choose the order of sightseeing.
  • In the evening – a music fountain show in the footsteps of the Old Town
  • Overnight in Warsaw

 

 Day 03 – WARSAW

  • Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Half day visit to Copernicus Science Centre – specially devoted to young people
    At Copernicus Centre everyone (including the adults!) rediscover how learning can be an amazing adventure – an experience accompanying us throughout our whole lives, and not just a privilege of childhood. The advances of science enable us to enjoy longer life-spans and better health, to take better care of the environment, to tap into virtually limitless resources of information, and to communicate at remote distances. Take the advantage of visiting exhibitions, Robotic Theatre, High Voltage Theatre show, CSC shows at Agora, labs, planetarium ( with 2D and 3D films) etc
  • Visit to National Stadium ( built for EURO Cup 2012 )
  • Overnight in Warsaw

 

Day 04 – WARSAW– Czestochowa – KRAKOW ( 350 km )

  • After breakfast departure for Czestochowa ( 220 km )
  • En route visit to Czestochowa Monastery – destination of numerous pilgrimages of Poles and Roman Catholics of other nationalities to admire Miraculous Painting of the Blessed Virgin Mary ( Black Madonna ). A tour with local guide-priest.
  • Continuing to Krakow ( 120 km )
  • Arrival Krakow
  • Evening free, overnight in Krakow


Day 05 – KRAKOW + Wieliczka Salt Mine

  • Buffet breakfast at the hotel
  • Morning city tour of Krakow – former capital of Poland with entrance to Royal Castle
    A walking tour of Old Town with Barbican, Florian Gate, Market Square with Cloth Hall ( Sukiennice ) and St. Mary’s Church with famous altar designed by Witt Stwosz, Collegium Maius – the medieval Jagiellonian university building etc.
  • Visit Smocza Jama ( Dragon’s Cave) and listen to the legend of Krakow’s Dragon
  • In the afternoon visit famous Wieliczka Salt Mine – 3 km long underground tourist route with chapels and statues made of salt; underground lakes and ponds. Learn the famous legend of Princess Kinga, who brought a wealth of salt into the Polish soil
  • Overnight in Krakow

 

Day 06 – KRAKOW – Zakopane – KRAKOW

  • After breakfast enjoy full day excursion to Zakopane – the winter capital of Poland and Tatra mountains
  • On the way – raft trip on Dunajec River
  • Sightseeing of Zakopane: walk along famous Krupowki Street and old part of the town with wooden houses in Zakopane’s architecture style, funicular train ride to Gubalowka Hill to admire the panorama of Tatras, visit Wooden Church and Old Cemetery, Jaszczurowka Chapel etc
  • Time for shopping on local flea market
  • Transfer back to Krakow for overnight

 

Day 07 – KRAKOW

  • After breakfast departure for Wadowice – the town where pope John Paul II was born and baptized. Visit the Holy Father’s family home which is now a museum dedicated to his life and activity and a parish church where he was baptized
  • Time for lunch at the local restaurant in Wadowice to taste famous “papa’s cream cake”
  • In the afternoon visit to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska – a pilgrimage sanctuary 17th century complex with Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and 41 chapels and stations of the cross on the hill recreating the Jerusalem from the times of Christ. Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is listed on UNESCO list from 1999.
  • Return to Krakow, overnight

 

Day 08 – KRAKOW – WARSAW

  • After breakfast fee time for own arrangements, shopping etc
  • Optional – Visit to Pieskowa Skala Castle and hiking in Pradnik Valley
  • In the afternoon transfer to Warsaw by coach or train ( 3 hrs journey ),
  • Overnight in Warsaw

 

Day 09 – WARSAW- departure

  • After breakfast transfer to the airport
